HISTORY OF TOBY FC

Established in 1932 by a dedicated group of workers at Charrington's Brewery in the East End of London, Toby FC has grown to become a formidable presence in the world of football. The club's name pays homage to the Toby Bitter, brewed and distributed from the brewery's premises in Silvertown and Mile End.

The club badge, inspired by the traditional Toby jug, reflects the deep connection to its brewing origins. It symbolizes not only the club's identity but also its roots in the local community.

TOBY'S TEAMS

Toby FC boasts a dynamic lineup with Two Men's Teams and Two Ladies' Teams, each contributing to the club's storied legacy.

The Men's First Team, established in 1932, secured the prestigious London Business Houses - Division One title four years later (1936), showcasing a tradition of excellence.

Last season, 2022/23, Toby's ladies achieved a flawless record of 20 wins in 20 games. The Ladies' first team also made history by participating in the Women’s FA Cup, reaching the third qualifying round, marking a first in Toby’s 91-year history.

Both the men's and ladies' first teams compete in Step 7 of the footballing pyramid, just one promotion away from non-league football. Toby's first teams are managed by Mark Jones - UEFA-qualified and Ex-Head of Football Development at Tottenham Hotspur FC, who worked at many clubs worldwide.

Stuart Pepper is the Ladies' Res Manager, ensuring continued triumphs. At the same time, Tommy Fulton leads the Reserves Team, contributing to the club's overall prowess.

TOBY'S HOME STADIUM

Nestled in the heart of picturesque Billericay, Toby FC found its brand new home at Barleylands. The stadium is based in the sort after area and is surrounded by many other sports activities, Barleylands is a vibrant sporting hub for the active community. Covering an area of 9 acres, the Toby FC facility comprises of 2 adult and 5 youth pitches to accommodate their growing pathway.

The brand new venue at Barleylands offers a premier venue for Toby FC’s home matches. Beyond the football pitches the facilities include a glamping site, archery club, equestrian centre and a children’s farm park.

Willson

Rhys Willson, known as Wilf, is Toby FC's leading scorer this season, aged 24. As a forward, he's notched 10 goals in 19 appearances, showcasing his prowess since joining the first team in 2019 after graduating from the academy. With 34 goals in 82 games, Wilson is a vital asset to Toby's attack.

Perry

Charlie Perry, nicknamed Chas, is Toby FC's steadfast goalkeeper, aged 24. A product of the club's youth academy, he's been a key figure since 2019. With 133 appearances and 28 clean sheets to his name, Perry is the unwavering guardian of Toby's goal, featuring in every game this season.

Maguchu

Dean Maguchu, also known as Deano, is a pivotal midfielder for Toby FC at 32. A product of the club's Youth Academy, he's been a veteran since 2019. With 102 appearances and 4 goals, Deano stands out as a consistent performer, just behind goalkeeper Charlie Perry in games played for the club.
