HCMC FC HISTORY

HCMC FC, with its roots dating back to 1975 as "Công Nhân Cảng Sài Gòn FC," has a fascinating history of transformation. Over the years, it underwent several name changes, evolving from "Công Nhân Cảng Sài Gòn FC" to "Cảng Sài Gòn FC" in 2001, briefly known as "Thép Miền Nam - Cảng Sài Gòn" in 2004, before officially adopting the name "Ho Chi Minh City FC" in 2009.

In 2016, the club earned a well-deserved promotion to compete in the prestigious V-League, signifying their ascent in Vietnamese football. HCMC FC calls Thống Nhất Stadium in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam, its home, boasting a capacity of 20,000 seats.

This football club holds a proud history of success, being one of the most decorated clubs in the national league. Their legacy is enriched with legendary players such as Phạm Huỳnh Tam Lang, Võ Hoàng Bửu, and Elenildo De Jesus. HCMC FC has claimed the V-League championship on four occasions, in 1986, 1993-1994, 1997, and 2001-2002, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in Vietnamese football.
